Shahril Sufian bin Hamdan graduated from the University of Manchester in 2008. He is presently a heterosexual coffee boy, waiting for his big break in the office of King Kong – which partially explains “Wolf at the Door” as the name of this blog. Occasionally, King Kong asks for his opinion on matters and when he does, Shahril doubles as an adviser.
Shahril is a Newcastle United fan, and loathes the fact that he has yet to see his team ever become champions. Until now, he kept secret his hopes that Newcastle would get relegated this season so that he will bear no guilt in adopting a new team. That team will probably be Chelsea, since he enjoys watching Nicolas Anelka, and he is dying to support a team that can actually win something.
Shahril is also an avid fan of cricket – a liking he picked up during his three years in the UK. He has recently subscribed to Astro Box Office for the purposes of viewing the sport.
Shahril enjoys listening to music – his favourites range from Radiohead and Pink Floyd, to Norah Jones and Joni Mitchell, to Sufjan Stevens and Bob Dylan, to Zero 7 and Groove Armada. Occasionally, he ventures out of his comfort zones and can be found listening to N.E.R.D., and if you’re really lucky, The Fugees.
Politically, Shahril is a left-leaning liberal at heart and if given the choice, would probably have everyone read Rawls and Gramsci. Paradoxically, he finds himself supporting the party in Red.
Shahril’s idol is Batman – rich, gets the chicks, saves the world.
Shahril does not like people who refer to themselves by name.
